YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE
“I’m too young to die.” I guess that saying doesn’t apply to children in other countries all over the world. 300, 000 children in over 300 countries fight in wars from ages seven to eighteen in mainly Africa and Asia. If they try to leave they will kill them. I think it’s unfair to involve children in brutal adult wars. They should be going to school and living with their families. In America we have restricted movies like PG 13 and R rated movies, but in Africa it’s like their own kids are in one.
All over the world people use child soldiers and their pathetic excuse is that they are easier to care for since they eat much less than adult soldiers do, so it costs less to feed them. They are also easier to manipulate because they are young and don’t know how to fight so they can easily threaten them. These inexperienced children only train for 2 months, and while many fight on the front line some are used as spies, messengers and even sexual slaves. They often send the youngest to go “clear” the landmines before the rest. Some of the kids taken from their parents in Rebel wars like Africa are so abused and brain washed in training they kill their own families and villages. So clearly killing the families that resist and drugging the kids to make them brave in battle is like trying to make a lamb fight a lion.
300, 000 child soldiers. 300, 000 dead children and 300, 000 families with out kids. It’s not fair to send untrained kids to a suicide battle against adults. So if you want to help kids just like you but poor and helpless you can go to invisiblechildren.com and learn and help the adults and children that are working to save African lives. A few months ago there was a boy found on the frontline of a war in Africa. He had papers in his pocket that showed that he was a 12 year old, sixth grader. As well as a letter from his mom begging him to come home. He had a life, a home and a family before the Rebels took him. And his mom probably doesn’t even know he’s dead.
