The Global Water Crisis:The Contaminated Truth

Over one billion people lack safe water.
Over two billion people lack sanitation.
Over two million people die from water-related diseases.
Now ask yourself, is this really necessary?

Currently, there are over one billion people who don’t have access to clean water. Clean water is very difficult to get in places like Africa and Asia, so they don’t have a choice in what they drink. At this rate, two out of every third person will be living with no water by 2025. And I say that these people should have clean water just like everybody else. Unsanitary water is contaminated and disgusting. People globally should start doing something about this.

If you were in charge of the world, would you let these people suffer from this? I wouldn’t let these people endure over something so minor to us but so major to them. One billion people have absolutely no access to clean water. Two million die over this and most of the people are children. These people hardly have any water, its equivalent to a ninety second shower. Now, you can see why these people need more clean water. Still not convinced? Well, a lot of people have no choice but to drink the water, like your parents forcing you to eat vegetables. They fully know that the water is hazardous and that it is totally unsafe to drink from it. Furthermore, the contaminated water happens globally, and related diseases are the largest cause of sickness and death. For example, every fifteen seconds, a child dies. The water they drink from is contaminated because it’s polluted by industries and agriculture, and this travels all the way to Africa and Asia. The poor usually drink from it first. It causes illnesses and death because it contains bacteria and parasites causing diarrhea. Also, there are water-based hosts, like guinea worms, which can feed off of you. Now can you see why this must stop immediately? If I were in charge of the world, what would I do? I’d do something to stop this global crisis.

Water is an essential element in everybody’s life, so these people need the water just as much as we do. There are already organizations that help these people in need, and we should support them by donating water. Even the smallest amount could make a huge difference in the world and make the child in need smile from the heart. You could start a fundraiser of you own and help these victims. And if you can’t do either, you could at least stop polluting the water. Remember, providing little could help stop the diseases, the melancholy people feel and stop them from drinking from that contaminated water. You could teach the importance of washing hands, to reduce the spread of germs. You can make a difference, so why not do it now?

Over one billion people lack safe water.
Over two billion people lack sanitation.
Over two million people die from water-related diseases.
It’s time to make a change.
