Gun Wielding Mini Soldiers

Ever heard of child soldiering? It’s when they give a kid an AK or an M-16 and send them out to fight. Countries like Africa, Asia, Latin America, and a lot more use kids as soldiers. Over 300,000 kids are fighting in wars they aren’t even old enough to understand. These kids shouldn’t be fighting. They get pulled away from their lives to go and fight. This isn’t right. Kids and wars just don’t go together.

Kids are sent to war every day .There are over 120,000 kids under the age of sixteen that are fighting in these wars. Over 300,000 kids total from more than forty countries put there lives on the lines every day. The kids are given drugs and alcohol by their superiors and are allowed to get drunk and high, and then are sent into battle. They are sexually and physically abused and many of them commit suicide. A seventeen year old was abducted three years ago. He was put through basic training and sent to the army. Another girl was beaten for dropping a bucket of water while trying to take cover.

Sending these kids instead of adults is not the right thing to do. To try to end child soldiering join a group that aims to stop it. Some forty years ago Martin Luther King Jr. said “I have a dream” and it was to end segregation. Now I have a dream to end child soldiering.
