the environment

Imagine looking outside and seeing no trees, or plants. This is what the world will look like if we keep harming the environment. The environment is disappearing all around us, and we are the cause of this environmental disaster. Environmental destruction needs to be stopped before it gets to far out of hand, and the image becomes a reality. We need an end to all this nonsense and start using our heads instead of using bulldozers.

Most forests are being destroyed and are disappearing right before our eyes. This disappearing act is taking a major amount of the environment away with it. Already half of the forest that once covered 46% of the earth’s surface has been destroyed, only leaving 23% left. This means that at this rate there won’t be anything left of the environment if we keep destroying it. Extinction rate is higher then ever and still continues to increase daily. The environment is home to a large amount of animals, it’s where they live, and find food. But now that we are taking their homes to build our own, the extinction rate is 1000 times faster then the natural rate of extinction. This means that there are less animals and plants to provide us with necessary recourses. Everyday the human population increases demanding the necessity of more resources. These resources are used to build homes and buildings, but because these resources come from the environment, and are causing us to destroy the environment more then it already is.

Before the environment disappears, we must do something to stop it. To help the environment we can buy energy efficient appliances, or we can buy recyclable grocery bags. Next time you see a recyclable grocery bag think about buying one instead of using plastic bags. The little things you do to go green can help the environment grow back little by little and soon we can call this disappearing act something no one will want to remember.
