Landmines Should we Ban them???

It happens every day, even right this minute landmines are killing children and adults in Europe and North Africa. Landmines are bombs in the ground that blow up when you step on them. In 70 countries there are about 60 to 70 million landmines still in the ground. They kill 8,000 to 10,000 children every year. We should stop landmines because they kill humans, children die, and they’re long term effects.

It affects humans because landmines blow off their toes, feet, legs, and hands. Landmines also fire shell fragments into their faces. It affects children because after their injured they face months of recovery. Some children never return to school! Some children that are hit won’t be seen as fit to marry. Many children are killed when hit due to blood loss. Long term effects are a problem because land mines don’t go away unless they’re cleared away. Landmines are still causing death and destruction in Europe and North Africa.

Landmines kill tons of people and should be stopped. The only way to stop landmines is to stop the use of them altogether. If we dont stop landminesthe whole of Europe and North Africa might end in a couple of years. What are YOU doing to help?

I like this essay because it is interesting and different. The last paragraph catches the readers attention to go help and stop landmines.
