Forest Extermination

You see me everyday. I am a precious system that is among the most threatened on the planet, all because of human actions. Many construction workers and land owners are cutting down trees for no reason. Global forest cover has been reduced 20% since pre- agricultural times. Half of the forests that originally covered 46% of the Earth’s land surface remain. Our forests are giving us food and a roof over our head and at least we can do is protect it and keep a limit on how much wood is being cut down. Many animals and resources that we use are reducing by the minute. The forests are our most valuable ecosystems in the world. As people cut down trees, it is like taking part of our lives away.

Large areas of the forest are being cut down to move a few logs and the heavy machinery used to cut down trees to build roads, and buildings cause major damage. Mining and industrial development are led to direct forest loss due to the clearing of land to establish projects. Plus without trees it could lead to flooding, droughts, soil erosion, and breakup in the ecological balance. The disappearance means the loss of food, homes, buildings, and the survival of our nature.

Many forests are disappearing and we need to do something about it if we want to survive. If you want to help increase the size of the forest, go green by planting more trees, and consider joining a foundation that saves our forests. Trees are our most valuable position and we need to protect it. All of the damage that human action is causing forests that are living just like us to die and it has a home, life just like us so think about it now, do you really want to destroy it?

Avoid phrases like "I believe" because it makes your opinion sound weak.

What can you compare deforestation to? A strong metaphor or simile would be great here. Check our Keliy's at the end of her first paragraph in "Worst Nightmare".
